Whether you're a resident of Branford CT or just paying a visit at the heart of the center of activity is the historic Branford Town Center.

As is characteristic with almost all New England towns, the town green is at the core of the Branford Town Center. Surrounding the Green is the town hall, three nineteenth-century churches, fabulous restaurants, trendy boutiques, Ashely's Ice Cream Parlor and the Common Ground coffee shop.

Just a short distance away is the historic Blackstone Library and the Branford Historical Society located in the 1724 Harrison House.

Visitors and residents come together at the Green for fairs, concerts and the yearly Branford Festival. Held every year on Father's Day weekend, this three-day event attracts thousands of people. There is a craft and business expo, nightly concerts, food, a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning followed by the Branford Road Race.
Over 2,000 participants register to run in either the 5-Mile Race, the 2-Mile Health Walk or the 1-Mile children's and adult Fun Run.
Come and visit the Branford Town Center. You'll get a great flavor of all the town of Branford has to offer.

I love to see blogs about historic place. The last pic did not load correctly for me. You might want to check it out.
Michael - I just love Branford....it is just so full of history throughout the entire town. I'm seeing all the pictures in the post in both Firefox and IE...could it be on your end?
Donna, hello! I so enjoyed your post. I have not been to Branford, or should I say, not been downtown. Beautiful! You did a great job of promoting your beautiful town.
Donna the Branford town center looks beautiful. It reminds me of what our area here in Hopkinton looks like.
Andrea - Thank you....It's a wonderful place and always full of activity.
Bill - It's one of my favorite spots and within walking distance of my office. Looks like we have a sister town in Hopkinton with that characteristic New England style.
I would love to visit Connecticut and the other New England states......I've seen a lot of this country but never that beautiful area. I know you must love it there!
Donna all of that green in the first picture is making me anxious for Spring and warmer weather.
Ann - Well, I've been down south when my son was stationed in both Fort Bragg and Fort Benning and loved it....time for you to make the trip and visit us Northerners. :)
George - Me too....after today's damp and chilly weather, I could use some spring fever real soon.
nice camera work! Can't wait for the flowers to start blooming....
Paul - I can't wait for the spring time weather and blooming flowers too!
Donna,
When we lived in the Bronx, we often went to Connecticut on Sundays, but not as far as where you are.
Looks nice, good photos, and I did not have a problem with neither the phots, not a slideshow.
Thank you
