Indian Neck-Branford CT is a wonderful waterfront community located in the south central area of Branford. Once a big tourist destination back in the early to mid 20th century the beach was a place full of activity and the area consisted of many second homes.
Favorite businesses back then included a Candy Store, Bud's Bait Box, Dairy Joy Ice Cream, Harry's General Store, Madelyn's Restaurant, Surfside Restaurant and The Waverly Inn. In the early 1970's the area became more year round and the commercial business that once flourished in the Indian Neck community slowly shut down and the landmark Waverly Inn burned to the ground.
Today you'll find a variety of home styles in Indian Neck that include cottages, ranches, capes, colonials, victorian and contemporary homes to multi-million dollar direct waterfront estates.

The Indian Neck School is a public Pre-School with approximately 74 students. Preschool classes and play & learn groups are offered at the Family Resource Center at Indian Neck for children who are residents of Branford.. Full time and part day classes are offered for children ages 3 to 5. The play & learn groups are for infants to age 5 and their mothers or care givers.
Foote Memorial Park on Melrose Avenue has softball fields, a baseball field, tennis courts, pavilion, playgrounds and Little League games. It's the perfect place for picnics, outings or special events. For boating enthusiasts the 100 slip marina at the Indian Neck Yacht Club provides a great sailing, fishing and boating experience.
The historic Owenego Inn on Linden Avenue is a family-run beach and tennis club situated on Long Island Sound with five hundred feet of direct waterfront views and is a popular place for not just beach goers but for its catering facility specializing in elegant summer weddings.

The Pawson Park and Pawson Park Marsh Wildlife area is another popular area of Indian Neck with its exquisite homes and breathtaking water views.

Donna, Indian Neck sounds like another charming area in your neck of the woods. The community info mixed with history are especially apealing to me.
Donna, I remember so well a few summer vacations we had with rental cottages in Indian Neck. A great place with the Thimbles off shore.

Ed - Ah...The Thimbles...my new favorite place after my cruise last year. There are still many cottages that become available for rentals during the summer.
