The Pumpkin Patch Event for children at The Shoreline Trolley Museum is going to be held on October 15th, 16th,  22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th from 11:00am to 4:00pm. 

Just think of how much fun it will be to take a ride with the kids on a vintage trolley car to the pumpkin patch where the children get to pick their own pumpkin to decorate with coloring crayons and pages.

The Annual East Haven Fall Festival takes place this year from Friday September 9th through Sunday September 11th on the East Haven Town Green.

This highly awaited event attracts thousands each year for the rides, games, food, entertainment and arts and crafts exhibitions. 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Annual East Haven Festival and will be dedicated in  memory of AnnLynne Carlson a devoted member of the Fall Festival Planning Committee & the Chamber of Commerce who passed away suddenly this past June.

Town Fair Tire will also be honored as a major entertainment sponsor of the festival for over ten years.

Sugar Bakery & Sweet Shop in East Haven CT-Winners of Food Network's Cupcake Wars

Are you a cupcake lover?  Crave cakes, cookies and candies?  Cupcakes are becoming the newest rage lately and we are proud to call one of our own Sugar Bakery & Sweet Shop In East Haven CT winners of Food Network's Cupcake Wars in December 2010.

Sugar Bakery & Sweet Shop is family owned and operated by the mother-daughter team of Carol Vollono and Brenda DePonte along with Brenda's grandmother Betty Bertier.

Brenda's love of baking led her to start a bakery in her East Haven home in 2004.  It wasn't long before word got around about her delectable desserts. 

Cars were flocking to her neighborhood to purchase her tasty treats and she moved the bakery from her home to 422 Main Street in East Haven.

After their phenomenal win in the prestigious Food Network's Cupcake Wars business at Sugar has almost tripled.  Each day you'll a find a showcase of 25 different cupcakes that rotate at random from their inventory of 50+ flavors. 

They also offer gluten free and sugar free deserts along with cakes, cookies and candies and can customize cupcakes for special events.

On my first visit there I felt like a kid in a candy store trying to decide what cupcake flavors to try out.  After carefully looking over the rows and rows of cupcakes behind the glass cases, I walked out with a variety of one dozen cupcakes.  My favorite was their cannoli cupcake, a vanilla cake filled with chocolate chip and cannoli cream.  Turns out it's Sugar's best selling cupcake. The other flavors I bought were Key Lime, Pistachio, Plain Jane, Hostess and OREO Explosion. 

Sugar Bakery & Sweet Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am - 5:00pm and is closed on Sunday and Monday.  Stop by or call them at 203-469-0815.  Once you've tasted their cupcakes Sugar will be on top of your list for sugar addiction.

 East Haven CT Real Estate- East Haven Homes Market Report January-June 2011

Understanding the general direction of the current East Haven real estate market conditions is of vital importance to both buyers and sellers in order to help you make a more informed decision when buying or selling a New Haven home.

There are currently 152 East Haven homes for sale ranging in price from $89,900 to $899,900.

During the months of January-June 2011 there were 80 homes that closed.  This is a decrease of 40 home as there were 120 homes that closed during January-June 2010.

The average sales prices of the homes sold from January-June 2011 was $197,905 with an average 98 days on the market versus 190,731 for those sold from January-June 2010 with an average 66 days on the market.

The median sales price for January-June 2011 was $192,500.

The median sales price for January-June 2010 was $186,250.

Below is a summary of East Haven homes for sale and the East Haven CT real estate market that provides a more in depth view of market conditions over the past twelve months.

In reviewing this comparison of year to year market data for East Haven CT there has been a significant decrease in the number of homes sold but there has been a slight increase in the average sales price which is a positive sign.  The $8,000 buyer credit last year is what made a significant impact on the higher number of sales last year versus this year.  A small percentage of short sales, foreclosure and bank owned sales are also a factor that is contributing to the overall average sales price.  The average days on market for homes sold this year has seen an increase of almost 30 days from the previous year.

The data for the East Haven homes market report for January-June 2011 is based on statistics provided from the CTMLS (private sales are not included nor are mobile homes).

Annual Car Show At  The East Haven
Fall Festival September 11, 2011

The annual car show at the East Haven Fall Festival is being held on Sunday September 11, 2011 on the East Haven Town Green.  It will begin at 9:00am and at 3:00pm trophies will be presented by April Capone Almon the Mayor of East Haven.

This car show is one of the highlights of the East Haven Fall Festival attracting hundreds of classic car owners from the area.  Come down to see some the best looking collectible classic cars, muscle cars and sports cars, enjoy some terrific oldies music, rides for the kids and food and craft booths.
