One of the most memorable places to visit in New Haven is the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History.  Filled with notable geological, biological and anthropological collections and its renowned Great Hall of Dinosaurs where among the many displays stands the fossil skeleton of a 65-foot Brontosaurus that roamed the earth some 150 million years ago and is the highlight of everyone's visit to the museum.

Yale Peabody Museum of Natural HistoryThe Geat Hall is also home to the Pulitzer award winning 110 foot mural, a fresco secco painting by Rudolph F. Zallinger.  It took Zallinger 3 1/2 years to paint the mural which was finished in 1947.

You can explore thw wonders of anthropology in the Hall of Native Americans, Fossil Fragments and Daily Life In Ancient Egypt.  You'll discover the world of natural history in the Hall of Mammalian Evolution, the Hall of Connecticut Birds, the Hall of Minerals, Earth and Space and through the Petrified Wood-Rainbows in Stone and eleven Habitat Dinorama exhibits.
