On November 11, 2008 I wrote my 100th post to honor my dad, my son, my brother and all of the men and women of our Armed Forces who have served and to those who continue to serve our country proudly.
Today, one year later this day is especially poignant for me and my entire family. My youngest brother David will be deploying on his second tour to Afghanistan in January 2010. His formal sendoff with his entire division will be held this coming Sunday at the Hartford Convention Center. He will then be sent to Indiana for a month's training and then come home to spend Christmas with us before his deployment in January.
David, Melody & Tristan
This evening our family and many of David's friends all got together for our personal sendoff at the Black Bear Saloon in Milford CT. We had a private room that was beautifully decorated and enjoyed some great tasting buffalo wings, macaroni and meatballs, buffalo popcorn chicken and cheeseburgers.
My mom spent the last three days in preparation of the party baking our all-time favorite cookies.
This is only part of our immediate family. There are 14 other family members who could not be with us tonight who were not feeling well or who live out of state.
We are so thankful that we could be together tonight in honor of Veteran's Day and for David. We are so very proud of you! God bless you and keep you safe while you are gone. You are our hero!
God Bless America!
