Today I was was reflecting on the recent news we've all been hearing day after day about the financial crisis that many companies are currently facing, the bailout packages received by others and the emotional ups and downs of whether the two houses of Congress could ever come to an agreement on the final passage of the $700 billiom bailout for Wall Street.
There is still so much uncertainty in how this will all play out in the coming weeks, months and even years and what affects it will ultimately have on our personal lives and the housing industry which is the lifeblood of our business.
With a little prodding (more like a big push) from my husband to get away from my computer which is not an easy task for me these days (my addicition to Active Rain has been in overdrive lately) we watched a movie on TV and as we were flipping through the channels a little later this evening we came across a live concert of the rock group Queen.
Growing up in the 70's I so vividly remember the great songs by Queen and the extravagance of their lead singer Freddy Mercury. Hearing so many of their great hits tonight like "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody To Love", "Tie Your Mother Down" and "We Will Rock You" brought back such wonderful memories of that era.
The last and final song of this concert was "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS" one of my all time favorite songs. In light of all that has taken place this week the lyrics of this song could not have been more meaningfull to me that we wil come through these uneasy times and keep fighting to the end cause "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!"
I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortuen and everything that goes with it
I thank you all -
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
