Connecticut Home Forelcosures - Connecticut Ranked 33rd In May 2009 Nationally

According to the latest report furnished by RealtyTrac for May 2009, Connecticut is Connecticut Ranked 19th In April 2009 Foreclosures ranked #33 nationally with a total of 1196 foreclosure filings which consists of notices of default, auctions and bank owned properties.  This represents an decrease of nearly 25% for Connecticut home foreclosure filings from March 2009.  Total foreclosure activity in Connecticut was down 32% from May 2008 and down 49% from April 2009. Connecticut was ranked #19 in foreclosure filings in April 2009.

With 1 in every 1045 homes facing foreclosure, New Haven County has the highest number of foreclousre filings with 334 followed by Fairfield County with 283, Hartford County with 238,  New London County with 58, Windham County with 53, Litchfield County with 51, Middlesex County with 45 and Tolland County with 44.  While there is still a continued weakening in the financial and manufacturing sectors and a flattening of the job market the numbers for this month are showing a small sign of impovement in the number of foreclosures for the state.
