The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed into law last week by President Obama and includes a provision for an $8,000 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit.  This tax credit will apply to first time homebuyers who purchase a home on or after January 1, 2009 through December 1, 2009.

The availability of this tax credit for first time homebuyer in Branford, East Haven, Guilford, Madison or New Haven Connecticut is a wonderful opportunity to open the doors of homeownership.

If you are a first time homebuyer who purchased a home on or after April 9, 2008 and before January 1, 2009 you are still eligible for the repayable $7500 first time homebuyer tax credit.
